I so enjoy being Samuel’s adopted “mum”, especially as I have not been blessed with any children of my own. It has been a great privilege to help him, send birthday cards and presents. Knowing just where the money is going gives real assurance. To get regular updates, photos and DVDs showing our children really enjoying life and growing in their love of the Lord has been wonderful. Seeing what has been achieved in such a short time goes to prove that the Lord is really in this work.
It has been a joy to have such close a contact with the recipients of our charity. To know that every penny given is used on the Home, and to receive photos, DVD pictures and letters on a regular basis makes you feel involved with the project in a personal and intimate way. It makes supporting this charity a privilege and pleasure, rather that a duty or an obligation.
Margaret & Sony are sisters who were left orphaned after the Tsunami hit southern India in December 2004.
Margaret says:
“I was very sad when I first came to Charisma, my sister and I were very unwell and had to go into hospital. We had never been to school.
We are very happy now, we have many other brothers and sisters to play with. The greatest thing is that I now go to school.”
Hi my name is Ventatesh and I am 7 years old. I don’t have any parents and was living on the streets until May 2006. It was a very hard life, I didn't always eat and was often used by older people to get money for drugs and drink for them.
I love my life now I have lots of fun and get to go to school. I have a nice home with lots of other boys and girls just like me - it’s great.
Hi my name is Govindappa I have no home or family and was picked up off the streets of India. I was given a home at Barry and Gill Home for the Elderly and I love it. It is nice to hear the children playing. I sometimes help in the garden. I have a nice bed to sleep in and good food to eat. Thank you Charisma for taking care of me.
